The Pokemon Company is owned by Nintendo, but those are not really first-party games in the same way Zelda is. They’re still developed by Gamefreak who:

A. Don’t really develop games for consoles until fairly recently.

I don’t recall anytime in the 400 hours I put into that original game any times when the framerate dropped to a level that ruined the experience for me in any way.
