I've argued about this with an American friend many times. We've agreed that... the more extreme your emotions, the greater your capacity to feel their opposite. He didn't get as excited about certain things because he'd never been denied them. He didn't absolutely have to sit near a window until the sun went down…

I used to spend a lot of time on Balkan forums with an almost identical atmosphere. I grew out of it. Hopefully these children will too. ;)

2010 was actually significantly better than average for me - in every aspect of my life.
