I’m actually having trouble getting my Made In one seasoned properly, in spite of diligently following directions. But food constantly gets stuck to it still, and it doesn’t come off easily even with a silicone scraper, so I get a ton of food buildup in it. After I get that off, I diligently dry it and use the

Same. Eggs are another thing I prefer a HUGE amount of pepper on. I use a grinder at home, but the shaker at the restaurant certainly doesn’t taste like nothing either.

I have recently enjoyed two different spritzers called “She Can” from Trader Joe’s that were delicious. I will keep an eye out for these!

Are wood ear usually called anything else at Asian grocery stores? I went to H-Mart, Joong Boo and Tai Nam (in Chicago) in the course of building an Asian cooking pantry, and though I spent a long time in each store looking at the  dried mushrooms, I couldn’t find anything labeled as wood ear.

The River Valley Ranch guys were there last Saturday when the Lincoln Park farmers’ market opened! I of course bought a giant bag and have been having mushrooms with everything this week.

“Red beer” can also be light beer and bloody mary mix, which is the superior combination.

Man, I loved Lockdown. It was apparently run by some sort of spurned former partner of the Kuma’s people, but their food was just generally better.

I really like Martin’s histories, and the art in World of Ice and Fire is absolutely worth the cost of the book and more. But Linda Antonsson is a real piece of racist shit, and I won’t give another dime to anything her name is on.

YES, I hate the people who are like “I changed 4 things in this recipe and it didn’t turn out! Will not make again!”

Literally came here just to comment this exact thing. “You are on the thinnest of ice.” just kills me every single time.

D’oh! My bad.

(On this one point, I admit NYC’s superiority.)

I also had Stan’s today too and it was good, not great. We used to have a woman in my office who would bring some in from a bakery on the South Side, and they were so freaking good. Plus they had my preferred filling, apricot, which Stan’s does not.

I bought 4 big deep soup bowls from Corelle over the lockdown, and I absolutely fucking love them. I never knew what I was missing by using shallow bowls and plates.

Me, if I had to stop eating tomatoes or mushrooms:

Yeah, commenting on this to bump your point about the IOC up. This is not the IOC’s fault (though a lot of other bad things are!), they’re literally trying to ban Valieva from competing and being blocked by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

I realized recently, after I got a thermometer, that my bread likely never rose because 110 degrees is not nearly as warm as I think it is. I’ve just been burning my yeast to death for years.

Hard same.

I tried these a few months ago in my Ninja XL air fryer (my favorite kitchen appliance), and the recommended cook time, which was similar to this one, absolutely cooked them into oblivion. The only reason they were even remotely edible is because I had brined them, but they were not good. So definitely check on your
