I don’t have a jar large enough for carrots (and fridge space is always at a premium), but in her book, Abra Berens suggests a paper bag inside a plastic bag (her first suggestion is a root cellar, but I don’t have a basement), and that has always works well enough for me to keep my farmers’ market carrots fresh

Yeah, I adore Allison, but this format sucks.

I’m a huge fan of a whole grain Dijon mustard vinaigrette. I use it to dress kale pretty much constantly. But I made a creamy garlic vinaigrette last week that was great too!

Literally the best thing I’ve ever done for myself is learned to make my own dressing. It just make salad SO much better.

I was making a pumpkin coconut curry soup, and it had just finished cooking, so I transferred half to the blender to puree it. I left the big hole in the top of the blender open, covered lightly with a paper towel to vent the steam, like a smart person.

I will check it out the next time I’m there, thank you!

Welcome back, Kevin! It’s lovely to see you, even if it’s just a drive through.

“Here, let me sit on the floor and broil us some gruyere toasts for our French onion soup.”

“I only recently learned how to use my broiler, like in the last six months. That’s no joke. For years, I thought the broiler was in that metal drawer under my oven, which clearly is for pan storage and has no heat source. Turns out it’s at the top of my oven.”

It’s good advice! Between you and the other poster I now know that when the time comes, I need to buy a baking sheet/wire rack combo AND how to clean it efficiently! :)

Unfortunately I do not own a cookie sheet large enough to contain the wire rack I chose to buy (an oversight on my part, but it sits well enough on top of the cookie sheet to work), and due to space restrictions, I will not buy another cookie sheet until one of the two I own needs to be replaced. But I will keep that

I like this method for large batches of bacon, but as someone who doesn’t own a dishwasher, I tend to avoid it if I can, because washing a wire rack that’s been used for bacon sucks ass. It takes forever, and the thing is still never clean.

I prefer the mini ravioli, simply because I find too much of the filling to be unappealing texture wise. But the mini ones are perfect.

Aimee in a walk, for me. I stood in line for Trader Joe’s for 30 minutes on Saturday because I needed to restock on their frozen Indian food (paneer tikka masala, channa masala, vegetable biryani and garlic naan). I also picked up the spicy tempura cauliflower, veggie fried rice, gnocchi with marinara and mozz (which

I mean, I’m a single person, so these aren’t really drawbacks for me. But they might be if you were the sort of person who used a lot of pizza sauce.

I love Trader Joe’s pizza sauce from the refrigerator section. Its only drawbacks are that it’s not a huge container and that it doesn’t last a super long time in the fridge after it’s been opened. But it’s the only one I buy any more.

No need to apologize! Honestly, I get it. If children can’t be loud outside, where can they be loud? They need to blow off steam too! I just wish their screams were less ear-piercing, is all. LOL

And if a sound was already grating on your nerves pre-pandemic, by several weeks into sheltering-in-place now it is inevitably making you LOSE your GODDAMN mind.”

I’ve been finding a lot of stress relief in the simple act of not worrying about what I “should” be eating or drinking. I still do my best to work greens and veggies into my diet, because I like them and they’re good for me, but if I want to have a frozen pizza for dinner, I eat some fucking pizza. If I want to get

Not at all! The farm stand I buy from the the most often at the farmers’ market is Mick Klug farm. I don’t know how widely they deliver, but here’s the website: https://mickklugfarm.com/ Their produce is always top notch.
