But I love the creaks and groans!

Del Toro apparently floated the idea of doing a comic version of the third movie and Mignola said no. According to del Toro, Mignola wants to keep the comics and the movies separate and a Hellboy 3 comic would violate that.

Oh what I'd give to read Guillermo del Toro's treatment for Hellboy 3.

I feel like this comment could apply to any season of the show.

Laurie's statement that, "You don't tell someone who's having a psychotic break they're having psychotic break, you meet them halfway," is really interesting to me. Now that Kevin is all disillusioned, how is he going to react to his crazy dad and his crazy dad's crazy friend?

There's an interesting reversal in this episode: in Season 2, Nora walks out on Kevin and here Kevin walks out on Nora.

Denis Di Novi also has a producing credit on "Cabin Boy," making her a legend.

Oh wow, that scene where her character on "Love" keeps asking the tour guide if this is where they filmed "The Holiday" is now way funnier knowing that she sincerely loves Nancy Meyer movies.

I saw The New Pornographers perform in Seattle last weekend. Great show.

I love Gypsy too. She really came into her own during the last few seasons of the Comedy Central years. She's amazing in the "Wild World of Batwoman" segments when Crow cheats off her essay.

I was one of those folks who kinda hoped Season 2 would be the last season because I couldn't imagine them ever topping the finale. But it sounds like I needn't have worried!

Ron Perlman's "Easy Street, The Hard Way" is shockingly good, I thought. There's a couple sections in there that are brutally honest and it's written very well, but still in Perlman's voice.

Hey now, I thought Patton Oswalt's "Silver Screen Fiend" was pretty good. Probably the only book I've ever read that talks about MadTV.

I saw T.J. Miller do a show up in Seattle a few years ago. Towards the end he was going on a rant about how people named Derek are terrible. He called out into the crowd and asked if there was anybody named Derek in the audience. Somebody said yes, and he asked the guy to give him his cell phone. The guy did and T.J.

Del Toro chose correctly. He's at his best making his weird little movies as opposed to giant studio things.

I actually legitimately think he puts on a good show. He's an asshole but he never really asks the traditional interview circuit questions and you can tell the guests are relieved they don't need to give boilerplate answers. He shockingly has good chemistry with almost all of his guests.

This is a really great interview. I wish it was more prominently placed on the front page!

I remember at the time reading some complaints from people who liked it but felt the dinosaurs were a distraction from the rest of the movie. This appalled me: dinosaurs make EVERY movie better.

The movie definitely hews closer to my preferred version of "Buffy" than the later seasons do. I always loved the absurd contrast between high school life and the supernatural, and the humor inherent in that concept sort of gets lost the longer the show goes on.

I'm one of those weirdos who much prefers the standalone episodes of "Buffy" so I've always had an incredible fondness for the first season. It's the leanest the show ever was in terms of character and I thought it contrasted goofy high school stuff with fantastical monsters better than any other season. Plus Mark
