Just sent this to twitter, but I doubt I'll get a good answer. I'm wondering if anyone else might be able to chime in?

I find that alcohol in the evening makes me want to snack like crazy (probably due to its effects on blood sugar I suppose). Giving up booze really cut my late snacking and, combined with avoiding carbs like rice and bread, lost me 30 lbs.

I highly suggest that you use a program that will TAG your mp3's with volume-leveling information, rather than altering (irreversibly) the mp3 itself. iDevices support volume-leveling tags. I use MediaMonkey for all my music. You can download it for free [www.mediamonkey.com] , and you can configure it to level

Thanks everyone. I was thinking about getting toner refills rather than full replacement cartridges. Any thoughts about pros & cons of those two methods? I figure a new cartridge is good for a refill or two, but after that, probably good to get a "new" cartridge and start the refill cycle again.

i'm only passingly familiar with LaTeX, so I don't know the answer. But, have you tried using LyX [www.lyx.org] ?

Recommendations for an online store selling toner refills? Need to buy refills for my HP 1606dn laserjet, and would like to go with someone inexpensive but reputable. thanks!

yep - I have a friend who swears by the lookup table method. I should start using it. Your lookup table is nice, but there's too much space between each of those easily-remembered rows IMHO.

reply to promote.

Google TV vs. XMBC: thoughts?

Ok, I'm just trying to remember: the beta testing got us up to 5GB, is that correct? If we didn't do the whole 5GB during beta, I wonder if we can upload via device to get the rest of it...

hmm - i hope you guys keep at it! For me (and probably most folks) the OCR component would really be the only thing to convince me to use it. Thanks for the attention!

did you look at the link?

I've long thought there should be such an app. I hope they're working on being able to figure out the bill by taking a picture of the check and then manually tallying which item belongs to which person.

Never underestimate the importance of good underwear in hot climes!

must it be an "app"? how about just an interactive website? Not sure how well this will work for your purposes, but might be a start:

I always just keep an eye on places like [dealnews.com] and [bit.ly] (slickdeals URL wasn't pasting well) when I'm looking for something like that. In fact, seems that fry's has a brother on sale: [slickdeals.net] . It's a laser, but pretty cheap. not sure if you need color, but anyway, i'd just suggest keeping an

Recommendations are going to depend on how much you use it. If you're printing 1000 pages a week, then you'll need something hefty. A few pages a day, and you can go with a little inkjet. Also, be aware that the biggest cost (aside from time futzing around when the thing breaks) is ink and toner refills.

I have a leatherman Juice CS4, and I also carry along a little one - like a leatherman squirt model.

Interesting. I'd like to see some cool plugins for outlook (unlikely), or other contact managers (more likely), that would calculate the gvmax email for you given the contact infomation. That way, you'd never have to write the "gvmax.appspotchat.com" part again.

I always get concerned about the overhead of data usage monitoring apps. Any ideas about which of these are lighter on your system than others?
