hey, wasn't there an adobe air app out there for a while that interfaced with google voice? did those little apps ever get any better? They kinda sucked last I looked (maybe that's why Whitson doesn't mention them...)

yep - I use GVMax too, and have it set up in Trillian. So, whenever I get a text, it just shows up in my IM app, and I can reply right there. It's pretty slick. My only complaint is that I have to set up a whole new contact everytime I want to send a text to a new number. And, it's really messy:

I've tried this, and while I want sparrow to be my default email client, I *don't* want push notifications. I've tried turning them off, but they never actually turn off, and I keep getting annoying beeps and buzzes on my phone every minute. Has anyone had better luck with this configuration?

What are folks' favorite ways of backing up cydia packages, for restoration after an upgrade? I've tried a couple of the cydia backup tools, but they're always failed for me.

I get all email at my domain. So, whenver I do business with a company, I use companyname@mydomain.com as the email address. For example, if my domain is "mydom.com", I use "bestbuy@mydom.com" for my best buy email address. I've actually caught companies leaking my email address before.

yep! most of the world is still marginalized. Most "cloud" products, and the entire computer industry, is scrambling to make great products for the rich folks in north america, europe, japan, etc. Most of the world is still crawling along with slow and intermittent internet connections. Hard to beat locally-stored

do you have to make the call with sidecar to share the data with the other user while talking? Or, can I be on a cell call, and have sidecar know who i'm talking with, and hence make it easy to do those sharing things?

Which side of the banana peel do you rub on your skin?

ah, gotcha. thanks for the clarification. I was feeling really badly about not getting in on the $100 deal. Now I feel $50 better.

It's hard to think about coughing up $200 for one, when I knew there were going for $100 at one point!

uh, on my computer and iphone.

good step in the right direction, but I'll stick with SplashID for now. SplashID keeps every record in the same database: be they web logins, credit cards, frequent flyer numbers, etc. And, you don't have to store it on the cloud (uh, scary!!).

You're going to rely on twitter's honor? hmm, the trusting sort i see! ;-)

The easylist definitely does not block requests to twitter!

Blocking 3rd party cookies is a start, but it isn't enough. Do Not Track Plus is a big step in the right direction. The problem is that, even if you use DNTP to strip cookies when you request information from twitter, facebook, google, etc, twitter/facebook/etc still have other information about that request: your

Logan, I've installed PriceBlink, but it doesn't seem to alert me to a Warehouse alternative when I'm on an amazon page. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I'd love to see a greasemonkey script or add-on that would alert me to the availability of a Warehouse alternative when I'm on a product page. I don't want to have to actually click on "Used" everytime. Also, it'd be great if price trackers could keep a lookout for warehouse items as opposed to all "Used" items.

I want to revert to my LH username/password, and to stop using the twitter/facebook/whatever login that doesn't work for me on FF. Is there any way to do this, LH staffers?

I'm confused: I assume that most people will already have a SIM for the network they want to switch to. So, I don't really see a problem there. But perhaps I'm not understanding. So, let's say I want to switch my AT&T iPhone to T-Mobile (disregarding the recently-offered AT&T unlocking option). Do I need a
