@LabNerd: a press release is one thing. A super-hyped televised bonanza is another. But yeah, everyone wants exposure.

re: PDF support, don't expect much from any reader. If you want to read pdf articles or books, your best best (for now anyway) is to go for a BIG reader so it doesn't have to re-format the pdf page. The Kindle DX would be one option.

"maddeningly simple"?

Question: if boxee is built on XBMC, why would I go with XBMC instead of just installing boxee?

That ain't shiiiit!

@Liam Kinkaid: maybe i don't dress well enough, but i've always been underwhelmed by the results i get from the folders. As you mention, stuff ends up getting wrinkled anyway, so what's the point?

@thornt89: i really doubt they work as well. have you tried the packing cubes? they're really resilient, and just a little bit stretchy. they're great. having used them, i would never use ziplocs in their place.

@cubbiesfan1908: yeah, i see what you're saying. but - try them! they're really, really great. you can just take all your clothes out of your bag quick, without getting them all over the place, etc. Really - they're phenomenal. So much so that, whenever I lend mine out, they seem to disappear...

@Fossa: yeah, no shizzle. are you and I the only two who are scared as f*ck of this?

First, I curse myself for not springing for the on-location repair warranty option (I always think it would have been the best $100 I'd ever spent - but when it comes around to buying another comp, I always keep cheaping out!).

@Ridley: What the paradox is really posing is the following: Given the scale of things, there *should* be advanced civilizations out there. And also given the scale of things, we *should* have seen them by now. The paradox is: why haven't we?

@CandyBacon: feel free to *shove* your sarcasm. oh, before you do, take a couple hints: 1) know wtf you're talking about before you try to get cute; 2) *gasp* the printer in question went out of stock online before "black friday". And indeed some sales started on thanksgiving day - *a* *day* *before* *black*

@Adam Harris: So, you're saying that these prices are for "in store" only, all starting tomorrow?

ugh - missed a deal for a printer on best buy! GIZ: shouldn't there be dates on these deals? Hard to know when they're going on sale...

@shiro21: What credit card do you have that requires you to send in receipts? Any Visa card, I believe, does not require that. They "offer" management of your warranties - that is, you *can* send in your receipts and they'll keep track of them for you, but it's not required to take advantage of the extended

@ehed: right. i think car accessories are other things not covered. i believe there are some other categories as well.

@Berserk87: You may be right in some cases. In my case, I just bought a new item and Visa sent me a check. thesue2u got a refund for the purchase price of the computer. etc.

@shaune23: yeah, i just called Visa. They asked me some questions. Then I bought a new item, sent them the receipt, and got a check in the mail.

to check your own credit card agreement, check out [www.federalreserve.gov] . While I don't advocate completely negging the idea of extended warranties (i'd much rather have lenovo warranty support take care of my broken computer than Visa, for example, and I can get 4 year warranties on my comp, etc), credit card

@dlaciv12: I have taken advantage of this, albeit for smaller items. It was absolutely no hassle, surprisingly! For huge items, dunno, maybe it would be. Regardless, it's a phenomenal perk that most people NEVER take advantage of!
