Shellshocked, indeed.  I haven't read the novels (a co-worker has and I pick her brain but she refuses to divulge future events), and really didn't see this massacre coming. 
 When Ned Stark lost his head at the end of season one I felt gut punched, but this was just jaw dropping and I literally stared at the action…
