This is why Shrill is such an important show!!!! There’s one episode that so perfectly encapsulates that feeling of being a fat kid that wants to swim but doesn’t. 

I’ve only ever been able to lose the weight in the midst of crushing anxiety ... talk about an evil catch 22. 

Not weird, I think it’s weird that Joan, the “celebrity reporter” didn’t know and is proud? I dunno... her way of writing about celebs is strange. 

She’s most known for being a Disney kid/teen star - definitely has cred and they both have the kid star thing in common.  I bet it’s really affirming being with someone who’s been through what you have.
