Wow. That's some pretty powerful stuff.
Wow. That's some pretty powerful stuff.
"I didn't have many real-life friends in high school. I'm pretty sure I heard my WoW name more than my real name in those days—to the point where my WoW identity and my own were inseparable."
...yeah, as you say, the generalizing "such as modern feminists choosing Anita Sarkeesian to be the face of modern feminism in gaming. "
Well, I'm not sure how she can win really, given someone complained she should put things a more neutral tone and you've complained she puts things matter-of-factly. To me, she is both neutral and matter-of-fact. She's very calmly stating her argument.
...She does take a neutral tone. She stays very calm throughout.
If she's getting devs to think about character and story a bit more, then yes, she is.
Yeeaah...that's not really been my experience of things.
She isn't the forefront spokeswomen for female gamers.
Well, that's proved there's a mailing list and people in the same profession talk about stuff...
"Really, Sarkeesian's whole message comes across as a negative one, a message of hate, a way of telling everyone "look how wrong you are and how right I am" accompanied by her smug look and matter-of-fact style of speech."
I was not aware of the bomb threat.
We should all have the satisfaction of being angry at the Daily Mail.
It does speak to Apple's lack of security, but it was reasonable for customers to have an expectation that their data was secure.
It's ridiculous. I heard this argument from colleagues - both (older) women. The story apparently broke in The Sun, our tabloid rag.
Yeah, don't let stigma stop you from enjoying something :)
Fair play. And nice response tbh. Most people would've got defensive before admitting that.
25 other people agreed with you? :|
Nice. So we've got nude hacked photos of celebrities disseminated on the interwebs on reddit to be fapped over. We've got a campaign of nasty slut-shaming directed at Zoe Quinn because her bitter-ex blabbed publicly about their relationship, and the harassment directed at Anita Sarkeesian got to the point her family…
Brr.
Huh. So initially I was ready to dismiss this, but it is kind of interesting in a way. Ofc Hello Kitty is a cat, just not based on a real cat. Like the Teenaged Mutant Turtles aren't real turtles, or Sonic the Hedgehog isn't a real hedgehog.
