There aren't rules. A genuine and sincere question where you aren't intending to trick a person, just talk to someone, is fine as far as I'm concerned....Whatever gender, whatever walk of life.

Indeed. My main thought looking at those photos wasn't "Wow, those women look unhappy while their men watch sports" (which I think was the intended message?) it was "whoa. those guys look like total dumbasses." Or worse, they actually look like cartoons of total dumbasses.
