I’m comparing a video game to a movie, not saying movies are the best evidence. If you’re going to try to criticize my argument, you should really read it more carefully.

Then have more women create video games. It’s not a culture they are traditionally interested in. Also it’s not the fact that female generals are being put in the game, it’s the fact that the female characters were added because of the politics going on in modern society. Also they had a planned rebuttal for the…
I was talking about Saving Private Ryan, a film that specifically follows a group of American soldiers, the policies of other countries would be completely irrelevant to that film. You accuse people of having poor reading comprehension when yours is absolutely dreadful. Also, even that article suggests pretty much the…
Are you a woman? Well, I am. And I definitely don’t need women shoved into the story where they historically don’t belong. Seeing women generals in B. C. doesn’t empower me, it makes me cringe, it makes me ashamed and sad. Because I don’t need history rewriting to justify my identity. I want to play authentic…
What if the rocket launcher behaves the same way as a top-notch bow and arrow? Would you then be on board with it?
So, would you be fine if they were driving tanks around? Or if Caesar had a rocket launcher? If you hate those ideas, is it because you’re insecure and hate tanks, or is it because that’s just too blatant an anachronism?
Are you even reading the stuff you’re citing, while accusing other people of being ignorant morons?
I am a long time regular on the official CA run Total War forum, and I am happy to say that the community there was largely baffled by the uproar. Also: some things to note: from what I have heard, the player who took the now infamous photo of the all female general recruitment pool admitted that he had spent the…
Does anyone else remember when Kotaku’s comments and articles were written well enough to inspire conversation rather than just knee-jerk tribalism between SJWs and non-SJWs, with both sides going after moderates?
Don’t like it don’t play it isn’t a good answer though. That’s being an asshole to your customer. “Don’t like it? Sorry you feel that way but we must appeal to our entire fan base” would have been much better. Having a moderator that doesn’t work in PR handle this was a dumb idea. They could even challenge people to…

Wow. I totally agree that it’s not that serious. And yet the ignorant are so trigger by it. Go figure.
Being the “Dictionary Guy” usually means quoting whichever Webster definition fits a particularly weak point under the guise of objective truth. You missed the point of what was communicated like an emotionless robot from a sci-fi movie trying to define love.
“Some women have served in some militaries throughout history” doesn’t translate to “these specific armies having female generals makes sense”. I don’t get how it’s somehow bigoted to want at least a semblance of historical accuracy. Saving Private Ryan doesn’t feature all-male soldiers because Spielberg is sexist, it…
The problem is that they are not being given a choice. Just as some gamers want to play as a female, others want to play as a male. And from my understanding the selection is random based on some arbitrary birthrates which are neither accurate nor representative of females in the military.
The Paradox grand strategy games actually handle this topic pretty well. They usually make unlocking women leaders part of the actual gameplay experience. In Crusader Kings for example, there’s a long line of laws and religious/cultural/technological influences that allow players to first unlock women heirs, then…
Here’s a crazy idea - why not just make it a setting that the player can adjust?
Look at you taking pride in ignorance. Nice... because fuck what words really mean right ? I mean do educated people really ever make asinine comments like this about dictionary definitions? No... just the ignorant masses wail when it happens. It’s like setting a trap for stupid people to respond to and y’all just…
“Total War games are historically authentic, not historically accurate,”
“As the example on Earth shows, life requires thousands of millions of years to evolve complexity”
