Why would you play 1080p video on a 1280x800 display anyway? Heck, why didn't you guys just test a 4k video on it, and then say how crappy it plays. That would've made even more sense.

Didn't he just say that in the article?

I just hope they start using ARM chips and prices drop well under $150 for set top boxes.

So Steve Jobs denies everything in public, and then admits what they did in the written letter? Why am I not surprised?

Get the Eee Pad Transformer from Asus.

The 16:10 ratio of the Galaxy Tab *is* the golden ratio.

That was exactly his point.....

Yeah, I'm sure if the iPad was from plastic and this one from aluminum, they'd say something like "well, the iPad's *texturized* back feels better than the Tab's *slippery* aluminum back", or something along those lines.

Steve Wozniak will love this.

US is becoming more like China every day, too.

Moore's Law is a subset of the Accelerated Returns Law. Even if Moore's law fails - as in the number of transistors on same die space stops doubling every 18-24 months, the technology would still accelerate but through different means.

I can't believe Google isn't pushing back on this. Did they even try to put their foot down? I mean REALLY try? They're not just a small player in the market anymore. They can afford to dictate pretty much whatever they want, but it looks like they are still scared of carriers. At this rate all carriers will disallow

You'd much rather pay an extra $50 per month for apps that you'll never use the 2nd time? Paid or not, most apps are crap and there's no way to really know that before trying it. At least with the free ad-based apps you don't get tricked into paying money for something you'll never use again.

Unlike Bush, they genuinely seem to want to help those people.

Who cares? Nothing beats Super AMOLED.

There may have been a time when Facebook was useful, but that time has passed and Facebook is losing its usefulness each passing day. It has become very spammy for most people and part of the reason is because they've allowed apps too much power over the news feed and the other part is making it so easy to add

How can it have same pixel density if the screen size changes? Do you really think Apple will break app compatibility just one year after they did it for the first time so they don't lose 20 ppi?

So don't buy a Chrome OS notebook? A lot of people do trust cloud apps and they're already using them every day. Using Chrome OS would change nothing for them regarding data security.

Your data will be contained in the "cloud". That's the point.

Why do you think it's a strange way? It sounds like a great idea. If many US people actually think the phones are "free" or "only $200" when they buy them on 2 year contracts, then this should work great for Google. It will probably be tied to a 3G/4G data plan, too. I think it's a pretty disruptive move and it makes
