Agreed!!! I was bummed when “Don’t Trust the B in Apt 23” was cancelled, but Kysten Ritter is so great in this. Actually, *everyone* is great in this.

Absolutely—so inspiring, and also empowering. In the miasma of crap, we sometimes forget the power each one of us has to make a real difference. And it all adds up...

The juxtaposition with the Kardashian story below is so striking...

I feel like this is quid pro quo—Schwartz provides lovely jewels and Kim provides PR.

Thank you!

This is indeed a terrific site — thanks for posting!

Orrrr, Oprah believes in all the money she makes by *selling* gurus and mentors to other women...

Oooooh, Nights in White Satin. And they would actually advise you ahead of time to get your cassettes cued up so you could record the entire album. Now that’s full service radio :-)

Omg, that’s right —I haven’t thought of that in ages. I miss the free form great FM radio we used to have. It had so much soul and there was room for honest personality and quirks. Those stations are few and far between these days (now get off my lawn!)

I certainly did! I once dated a dj who played Every Day I Write the Book for me on air twice in a row because he knew how much I loved it. Mr McManus is quite the craftsman...

My friend Veronica can’t stand up and listens to him on the radio radio, but I prefer watching the detectives while waiting for the end of the world.

THANK YOU for volunteering and being part of the solution. I imagine you helped many people even more than you realize.

This needs a million stars, but unfortunately, I’m a lowly grey. Thanks for posting!

Agreed on McCain. I really resent the fact that Trump and Carson are so horrific, that against all reason I’m actually wistful for Romney.

So true — I've found myself getting nostalgic about Mitt Romney.. Ah, the Good Old Days...

I immediately thought of Elisabeth Moss’s portrayal in this series as well! I assumed there might be a large grain of truth to Top of the Lake given that Jane Campion is from NZ, but wasn’t sure how much might have been exaggerated for dramatic effect, etc. Maybe not as much as we might hope...

I just cannot go on planes—can’t do it. I drink lots of water the day before, stop drinking 2 hours before the flight, and ration water while onboard. I then rehydrate as soon as we land.. I’ve flown across oceans this way. No inflight cocktails., of course, but I make up for it afterwards :-)

Yes, and many of them buy in “the sticks” of CT or down by NYC. But Farmington isn’t the scenic sticks, and being in north central CT, it’s not even particularly convenient to NYC—although the helicopter pad will help. It’s a suburb, and unless his kid attends Miss Porters it seemed an odd choice to me —just my

I almost feel bad for him as he’s dropped the price so much and is so desperate that he’ll even lease it. It’s such an incongruous place for him to be located—all I can think is that he liked the idea of owning Mike Tyson’s former home. Why Mike Tyson ever bought there is another story...

Sorry—I meant wife—staying up too late!
