I have played so many JRPGs, including all the Trails games, and I’ve come to the conclusion that speed up buttons should be required in pretty much all of them (The only ones where it isn’t a huge problem are JRPGs that fall on the action-y side of things like a CrossCode).

The full text of the segment where Yoshi-P talked about this problem was actually translated by the XIV Discord, heres a screen cap for anyone interested:

Does Trails In The Sky SC count? Even though its a 2nd game in as series, in many ways it is just the second half to the one game that is Trails in the Sky.

I don’t love the Moonfaire jump puzzle, but I actually really enjoy doing the jump puzzles in XIV.

I managed to beat Super Skyzo after ~20 hours of practice. Super fun level, but I regret doing it with the joycons and therefor destroying my hands. Working through the rest of pengas levels on a PS4 controller now XD

Yeah for sure, and its easier than it used to be to find them, if you just do a search for easy or normal levels and filter out the “Speed Run” tag youll get a bunch of real creative levels.

I play DPS, real people don’t get me commendations ever ; ;

From later interviews it looks like the Hrothgar were decided on first and Viera women were decided on over implementing Hrothgar women (probably because people have been yelling at them to add Viera to the game for years so they wanted to throw fans a bone since they had to implement some Viera models for the Ivalice

The realization that we will likely never get Ao/Zero no Kiseki localized has been one of the biggest motivators for me to learn Japanese. Pretty much every other time I’ve tried to learn I quit after a week, but my desire to play those games has managed to keep me on board for almost half a year of daily practice.

I’m glad to see people pick up on this gem. I don’t know why but for so many people this flew under the radar. Heck I didn’t even play it till a month after it’s release, even though I had it on my wishlist, just so many games this year. This is easily my top RPG of the year though, probably the 2nd best game as well
