I did a brake job on my 2001 Miata that turned into 2-day job when first I discovered that I had bought the wrong size pads. I had the same issue with dimming with the screen in my Mazda3. It turns out the screen doesn’t automatically switch between day and night modes if the brightness is set to maximum. If you turn the brightness down, it will go back to automatically changing modes when the headlights go on.
