It’s in the resort islands off the coast of Charleston, SC. BMW, Mercedes & Volvo are all “local” brands here, with their factories. So we’re used to seeing them plastered on billboards, stadium sponsorships, etc; and you get very little side-eye for driving them, in a way that wasn’t possible 2 decades ago before

Some tint places offer “no-fault” warranties, ie if you scratch it they’ll replace it.

I think it really depends more on the pillars & window surrounds, but generally older vehicles do look better without tint.

I work in real estate in an expensive area, and just my anecdotal 2 cents, Ford punches way above their price for premium-ness here at least.

Same, I think I started in 2005-06, I was in grad school, so I’d grown up in an age where getting the most up-to-date car news meant a $30-50 subscription to Autoweek, so Jalopnik blew me away.

The only separation was that Volvo didn’t buy the racing division, which doesn’t go by Polestar anymore that Volvo owns all naming rights.

It’s like how AMG is now, technically called AMG-Mercedes, they’re a wholly owned subsidiary of Mercedes.

Polestar is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Volvo, just like how Mercedes-Benz owns Mercedes-AMG, and FCA owns Ram.

Not only that, but Volvo has already done this before, with Ohlins even.

You’re not incorrect, but it’d be like saying a Ram 1500 isn’t technically Dodge, or an AMG GT isn’t technically a Mercedes-Benz.

I thought it might sound interesting with the turbo, but no.

I hate to justify a feckless Salty letter writer... but I’m one who really struggles to complain if everyone is friendly and working hard.

If you can see the ocean from where you’re eating, there will be a 300% tourist markup.

Did you bother looking at the pics, or reading the article?

I just sat in a new 8-Series with one, and I have to agree. It’s definitely a “Oh, wow!” moment when you notice it.

Okie here. For an old car of mine that sits outside, I’ve covered it in several layers of comforters before, then wrapped that whole mess with a car cover and tied it all down. The system obviously has limits, but it’s so far made it through 25 years of OK storms with no hail damage.

To people whining about FB privacy vs. Credit Card privacy, quit sharing!

No, you wouldn’t need to add any friends. If you list it on their Marketplace, it shows to everyone in your geographic region. You can also join some more specialized Buy/Sell groups to list things too.

It’s not just the $5, it’s unnecessarily putting my credit card info into another shady website, no thanks.

Outside of California, USC has next to no reputation, the name sounds like any state school. But within CA, and LA specifically, it’s considered prestigious. Sort of a “regionally prestigious” school I guess? It’s like Rice. Outside of TX almost no one has heard of it, but if you tell someone in Houston you went to
