I hate that about my Frontier, backing up with the tailgate down is a major pain.

You can get a V6 crew cab Frontier (2WD) for $23k, that's WAY less than a Taco or Coloranyon.
Frontier Crew Cab/short bed owner, I have two small kids, the king cab/access cab doesn't really work with booster seats. I never miss the extra bed, that's what bed extenders are for ;)
My '14 Frontier SV has dual zone automatic climate control, and sturd bed rails, and a lockable tailgate. I don't have 4WD, so I don't know if that's a Frontier issue, my window switches work fine... what's wrong with the switches in the Taco?
Headset? My last four cars have had Bluetooth, and all you have to do is tap the "answer" button on the steering wheel to receive a call. I still don't talk on the phone while driving if it can be avoided, but it's absolutely less distracting with Bluetooth than without.
Many aftermarket options, here's two:
I was skeptical about getting the Value Truck Package on my Frontier, because getting a bed extender and sprayed liner would be cheaper. Since buying it last May, I use the UtiliTrak almost daily, it definitely makes a 5' bed more usable.
The bed extender is standard with the value truck package. FYI.
That's how I feel about GM using the 3.6 in the Colorado. .. they had the 4.3 available, and it gets almost the same economy when tested in the Silverado.
Also, you can get a Frontier SV crew cab for $23k (V6 2WD), all the V6 Double cab Tacomas were $30k+ when I bought my '14 Frontier SV.
The higher end (SL/Pro4X) Frontiers have MPG readouts and non-plastic steering wheels. I honestly don't miss the MPG calculator on my SV V6 crew cab, they're never very accurate. And for a $25k truck, it has a factory sprayed bedliner, a backup cam, Bluetooth, backup sensors, tow package, does 0-60 in under 7…

So which of the three can you get as a V6 crew cab for $23k brand new? The Frontier has shortcomings ,but at least it's priced appropriately. Every new Taco (double cab V6) on the lot was over $30k when I was shopping. That's a big part of what drew me to the Frontier.
Would it be illegal to have an open bottle of liquor?
My wife and I both drive '14 Nissans (Altima & Frontier), they both unlock when placed in park. Your loaner may have been messed up.
I'm an office drone, but I live in the woods and haul my own garbage and stuff weekly. My Frontier has probably carried more in the bed than the average Tundra.
By full time, I meant automatic, which is far more practical than having 4WD that must be manually engaged. Even if a real 4WD is more capable, it won't really be practical until after you get stuck while running in 2WD. What kind of gas mileage do you average with the Ridgeline? My Dad had a Pilot and usually…
I would have bought the Ridgeline for the full time AWD... if I'd had a use for it. But the value of the 2WD Frontier, especially with the value package, was too much to pass up on. RWD is fun.
My '14 Frontier was about $25k, and it has heated seats, backup cam, Bluetooth, etc... It's not as soft a ride as the Ridgeline though. You can't get a 2WD Ridgeline either, the Frontier is available as RWD, which is good for people like me that don't need 4WD. If I lived where it snowed, I'd probably drive a…
