I bought an aluminum 5.3 with trans, entire pcm and harness for $800. Sold the 4l65e for a decent decent amount of cash too. Wiring and mounting isnt a big deal if you do some homework/research. If you get really lucky, you can find a 6.0 4l80 combo for not much more.

Actually, I bet the 6.2 and 3.6 weigh about the same. Wouldnt be surprised if the V8 is lighter. But your right, all the supporting hardware to handle the V8 is where the weight is.

Your not wrong to think that way. Im with you in the V8 or no way mindset. But Im glad their opening more doors. More sales are good and make it so the V8 cars stick around.
