That’s Captain Jean-Luc Petard to you!
The message is tacky but whatever.
My JK was 100% stock except for tires when I traded it in. Now my TJ is 100% stock except for tires and skid plates and rock sliders. Contrary to your belief, VERY few people replace the engine or axles. Sure, a lot of people replace the suspension, but you’t be surprised how easy, quick, and relatively cheap that is.…
It’s a Rubicon 10A, stock except for some security mods, lights and a winch. Even stock 265/70 tires. I’ve yet to get stuck and do offroad. It’s true that some people mod the hell out of them to go offroad, but loads of people keep them stock and do it.
You might as well say drivers only need to roll around with 2/4ths the number of wheels on their vehicle.. Did you ever think that maybe, just maybe, people need a vehicle with more utility then one that can get 3x.x MPG on the highway?
The same can be said about sports cars.

About 2 years ago I was in a Goodwill and I regret not buying a framed faded 1960s enlargement on Kodak paper of a middle aged man in coat and tie posing next to his new Volvo P1800.
I owned an 87 Pulsar NX SE in the early 90s. This experience results in today’s CP vote.
What if I vote CP not because I dislike the car, but because I dislike the price, which is, objectively, pretty high for a thirty-year-old novelty item?
not everyone wants to drive a hearse for little people mr. fort.
The DCT was the biggest problem with the Focus (I wonder if it was even a big factor in its death here). I had to special order mine to get the manual SE and that was worth it—absolutely flawless reliability while getting better mileage than EPA (or a Subaru) with more power and didn’t use any noticeable amount of oil…
