My first car as well, back in the early 80s. Had a crummy “semi-automatic” with 1,2, L and H, and of course reverse. All for $400. First thing we did was oil and filters change, followed by a proper manual and a three-pedal set. Wish I had kept it.

The proximity key was the first thing I learned to disable on my car. Thankfully it was a very simple process using the turn signal stalk controls and the dash display.
