I remember going through something like this on my first trip to Peru when going to Cuzco, except it was in a jet. I’ll never forget the “slingshot” corner take-off either. Nothing like being g-slam onto the bulkhead as the jet speeds up through the corner for take-off.

My thoughts exactly! A total dick-head move. He was in such an hurry that going into oncoming traffic resulted in all the other police cars passing him on the proper lane. Plus he was all over the freaking double yellow for no reason even before then. A total asshat.

I highway cruise at 80 mph (when possible) on cruise control and average just over 30 mpg on a 2006 car with none of today’s gas saving tech. It’s not that difficult to achieve both. Then again, I don’t drive a bro-truck.
