Whoops, I don't know why the image got posted on top. Anyway you get the idea.

I didn't know what they were called so had to google "miley cyrus shoes" to find out the name. It's this style:

I remember seeing people post dumb shit like this back in the Myspace heyday, but I guess the key difference is that there were no hashtags. That's the weird part to me, it's not just like "TMI!", but "hey let's join this colossal aggregate of data so it will be easier for people to find us being TMI!"

Ah, fair enough. I think I was slightly too young for this trend back in the 90s, but I guess in the ska context I can see them fitting in. I wonder when we'll be seeing platform Skechers and JNCO jeans again...

I love that picture so hard.

I'm in America, and I find it weird too.

Why, why why are these "creepers" shoes in style now??! They are the WORST. It seems like every 'edgy' celebrity is wearing them now. I know that sometimes it takes a while for me to warm up to new trends, but I don't think I can ever do it with these.

This is... brilliant. Seriously. I have spent the last few years pranking the shit out of my friends and family, and I was thinking that next year I'm sure they'll be expecting it. This would be deliciously confusing to do to them next year!

Did you get anything for catching them?

Oh man, this one might be the winner.

Looks like one of them has made it to this thread, too!

Words cannot describe how happy I am that this gif exists.

Isn't it the most disappointing thing ever when theres something HILARIOUS and your friend/boyfriend/whatever just looks at it and shrugs?

As it was April Fools Day today, I went ahead and did that text prank to my friend. I can verify that it is solid. Man, was I giggling the whole time though...

Oh my god, we are all doomed.

Tangentially related, but have you ever seen that Chernobyl documentary about all the house cats that have now taken over the area? It's fascinating.

Oh my... how did you know the exact kinds of books that I fucking love?? This is immediately going on my wish list, thanks!

I've seen the hypotheses about cockroaches surviving nuclear winters, but does anyone know about rats? I've heard that the NYC rats have evolved to be immune to most rat poisons...

I thought New Hampshire was the south of the north? I'm a California transplant though, so maybe I've gotten it wrong. I've always had the impression that Maine is the Oregon of the northeast.
