Amazingly, I have read several articles about Elliot Page coming out and none of them used their deadname and it was clear who they were talking about.

As a former journalist who also went to j-school: nope. The story is not his name, the story is his announcement.

So basically, “fuck activists, fuck activism, and the old ways are the right ways always.”

You went to a shitty j-school, then. It’s perfectly possible to cover this story without deadnaming Elliot, as evidenced by the HUNDREDS of outlets that properly covered it that way.

If this were at all a real question I’d happily answer it. Instead, I’m just going to say stop being a d**k for no reason . . .
