You’re not wrong but it doesn’t help to not fuel the conspiracies and the timing was always going to be suspect regardless of BFA’s quality or release schedule.

And 8.2 was not ready. Lots of weird tuning, raid is apparently not ready, other issues straight up not addressed and some specs ignored entirely. They’ve bled subs and players all over again like in WoD and FF has done nothing but grow. When the PTR first dropped the speculation was MAYBE the beginning of July or…

It does not magically turn it into a good 3rd person shooter but it goes from awful to mediocre and lets you get through the combat sections without babyraging. Also with the one pistol snipe skill being able to line up like 5 headshots and insta kill a room makes encounters later on trivial.

For anyone who has ever been curious about the game but heard how awful the combat/general gameplay was, just do a pistol stealth build and please enjoy this unique as fuck game. The janky gameplay won’t even be a thought after a couple hours.

It’s been like the same song and dance with Luke since D1. Hell, I remember him saying similar things and talking things up during the Reach days before and after launch.
