And while I have no love lost for these guys, I also think that the fact that someone is a scumbag doesn’t completely abridge their right to privacy. Even if that explanation is true (and let’s just assume for argument that it is) that is a grossly loaded and inappropriate picture to run alongside a story about the baseless harassment (opinion mine) suit some cop filed against him.

Just an FYI, the Atlus spokesperson is full of crap when he says: “Regarding the ‘gold’ character in question, in Japan this is a trick question because the cursive kanji of ‘gold’ looks exactly like the standard hiragana ‘to.’ So gold appears to be accurate.”

I mean it depends on how the localization was done, but in my experience presumably there was someone in the chain on the localization team whose job it was to check deliverables prior to submitting them to Atlus. That person, in addition to the person who wrote this translation, very much are accountable.
