I think what people forget now is that the last 10-15 years of his life he couldn’t sell records or tours, he was broke and most people thought he was a freak. He was turned into a saint after he died, but I think lots of people did believe the allegations and pulled away when he was alive.
In the buff, bein’ rude
Doin’ stuff with the food
Gettin’ lewd with his food
We heard that’s what you are into
It looks like it was the coaches.
I worked in admissions for years and what I want to know is... who at the universities were getting kick backs? Who was receiving the bribes? You can’t just pretend someone is an athlete recruit as a path to admission without someone fixing it up on the inside too.
USC is not a state school and it has a 17% admittance rate.
Who's Loughlin now?
BUUUUUUUUT if she had just donated a wing or new scoreboard we wouldn’t even be having this conversation. It’s not so much that these people bribed their kids’ way into school, it’s that they didn’t bribe through the appropriate channels.
Exactly. The mega-rich don’t need to bribe little SAT proctors or coaches. They go straight to the President and the BOT.
The text of that tweet squicks me out. “The chase for Cassie is on.” Gross. She’s a person, not one of those mechanical rabbits that greyhounds chase around a track. I’m so over the narrative that if men simply push harder and don’t take no for an answer they’ll get the girl, like women are prizes to be won in the…
I know, right? This dude looks like a lump of bread dough that forgot to rise.
My theory on Colton’s virginity has actually evolved over the course of the season. At the beginning, I assumed he was a deeply closeted gay man, but by the finale, after a thorough examination of all available evidence, I’ve concluded that he’s actually a small boy magically transformed into an adult man - a la Big -…
These people were basically arrested for not being rich enough. They cheaped out on purchasing admission by going through a middleman. The ones who get away with spend millions on new buildings or other assets and deal directly with the universities.
It's the expectation of the spoiled brat.
Legitimate question after reading this article and several others. All the articles indicate the students were “unaware their college admissions were premised on a bribe.” Okay, fine. But as a 17 or 18 year old, wouldn’t you be aware that it is unusual that someone is in the testing room with you giving you help and…
When I read the last line of your comment, my hand unconsciously made the Tilda Swinton gesture from Snowpiercer.
On second thought, maybe they shouldn’t have included the “swipe right” function in the police database. Live and learn.
When I was a freshman in high school my mom’s partner was murdered by his son, a senior in the same high school as me. I live in a small town, and this was front page news. Going to school after was hell, the rumors as to what really happened, and what the relationship was between the father and son that had lead to…
I’ve dealt with this first hand. I just completed a film about an unsolved missing person’s case, that I’d been working on for six years. This person disappeared while on a class trip, and so I sought to interview his classmates. Some spoke with me, others didn’t, and I wondered why. I wondered, “What do they have to…
