Yeah that one was confusing and seemed more like a mournful loss of life than anything creepy. The random italicized sentences at the conclusion of the paragraphs also threw me out of my immersion in the story.

Honestly, I thought that one was the least scary - it was so caught up in flowery language that it obscured anything scary in the story.

lol I grew up in “obscure” Nova Scotia, these problems of body image and disordered eating exist there too because we’re also normal human beings and have access to television and media.

In 1986 let’s say, this could have aired and it wouldn’t have been an issue.

I am tired of them in general. They collectively should go away into oblivion.

Talking about the older Kardashians here but it’s my experience as a middle aged lady that wealthy women who have traded on their physical appearance really start to panic as they get older And by panic I mean as their faces age they start to control what they can. They get superskinny, buy new boobs, do all sorts of

I haven’t weighed myself in 16 years. Not since I started treatment for anorexia nervousa.  And once I successfully completed treatment, I refused to look back.  It feels fucking fantastic.  I have no idea what the number is.

Oh god I have to read this book every damn day to my toddler

There are usually at least two posts with the scary stories.

Aww, I didn’t make the cut, but is there going to be an article with extra stories as well? Also I think Blood Ben writer went to my parents’ alma mater. I will have to ask them if anything weird occurred in their string of cheap communal houses.

The creepy landlord one GOT ME. I’m pretty sure mine is harmless, but there’s a definite vibe that makes stories like that hit a little too close to home.

I grew up in Fresno, and we killed black widows the old fashioned way: spraying them with carburator cleaner. Sure, it IS technically flammable, but no property was ever damaged

For all you insect and arachnid disposal needs.

A couple of weeks ago I called my husband while I was at work because I found a giant wolf spider in my kids toy bin that had been stalking me for days, but always eluded capture.

As a former chicken caretaker(my parents had some on the ranch and they were my job to feed, collect eggs) you picked the wrong birds to not fear. They are MEAN!

I love Spotify for that reason - I’m stuck in my ways re music, but when I follow all of my favourite 90s bands and albums, it suggests playlists of stuff I’d never have listened to if I’d have stuck to CDs or downloads. I’ve also adopted the milennial idea of reducing my stuff’ and relying on rentals and the cloud -

Sounds awesome. There is so much amazing music out there. I use whatever I can to dig for it.  YouTube Last.fm iTunes recommendations emusic etc.

I have the same thing with my son. He’s 15 now and we spend hours talking music. I show him all the older stuff I’ve loved since I was his age(he’s a huge old school hip hop fan) and he turns me on to new stuff that he’s listening to. It’s a really great way that we can relate. It isn’t always the easiest to get a 15

Damn that’s a shame if its true. I am 50 and still always digging around for .new music. A great thing for me is my nieces and nephews are old enough now that they can influence what I listen to now, after I helped shape their choldhood taste in music.

In this context, I liken OK Computer to Nevermind - It was my first Radiohead album, and my favorite, but it was (back in the day) all the rage to claim that Kid A was Radiohead’s true masterpiece . . . here we are, two decades-ish later, and I can’t remember the last time I listened to Kid A, but I regularly go to Par
