I think it’s less to do with religion and more to do with power, especially the kind of power an organization gets from society as a direct result of having some kind of widely-accepted moral ‘superiority’ to others.

I could probably deal with one or other - a project car that needs an unknown amount of work for 5k, or a working car that needs fees paid for 5k. But both of these combined issues impact the my thoughts for the nice price.

Shows some family love from the oldster that the new kids never inherited (faces stuck in video games).

Some of the worst evils are those done in the name of Christ. These are people who, if Christ came back today, would absolutely crucify him as a warning to others for daring to question the establishment.

Oh, I assumed by taking it out of CA, the fee problem disappears.  If not, I think my NP just became a ND.

It seems like ~$5k is the normal modern price for a generally desirable car over 40 years old that has a really clean body and mostly clean interior. There are a lot of mechanics that can drop a new engine/trans in something as popular as a Corvette. Replacing entire panels, dealing with rust, missing seats, etc

You had me until you I read the part about California and back fees. Never will I ever, every deal with that headache again. Especially buying out of state

It’s a nice price because the body is very clean and C3 Corvettes are appreciating in value. I have no interest in it because I find the styling cartoonish and the technology ancient compared to the C4 that came out only a few years later.

NP. It’s Christmas. Help a guy out. Any of the expensive/rare parts to this thing look to be present (gauge cluster?). Newer LS and manual swap can be in the cards or go full offroad vette crazy. The 10 ft. look is fine. Shows some family love from the oldster that the new kids never inherited (faces stuck in video

And given that these motors are supposed to be bullet-proof, what stupid thing did the current owner do to blow up the last motor? And that leads to the next question... what other stupid shit did the current owner do? Maybe dumb stuff like installing a Warm Air Intake...

It’s a little pricey for me, but I wouldn’t use BaT as a reference for much. Those people have become batshit crazy.

It never sold well here (heavy, expensive vs. competition, and tightly packaged, which didn’t make it easy to work on) but the Americans who discovered it, and could afford it, tended to become pretty fanatical about it. Trying to remember which name-brand race driver, possibly quoted in Car and Driver, thought it

Hot Take: The wheels are fine.

This is a great-looking car with some very real bonafides. The styling is pretty different than anything rolling off assembly lines these days, but has aged well enough to, in my opinion, hit the sweet spot that’s distinctive enough to overcome boredom without being outlandish.

This seems wildly overpriced given that an absolutely mint and much more original one sold on BaT last year for $33,500: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1991-toyota-celica-all-trac/. I actually love the All-Trac, but the lack of detail and modifications make this a hard pass.

These wheels have a very narrow niche where they work... I think this might be one of those rare occasions (‘90s car, and most importantly, a genuine rally-bred machine).

Wow. Functional hood scoop, real 4wd, newish engine, turbo, spoiler AND popup headlights. I am more than willing to spend YOUR internet bucks. NP

When I read the headline, I thought it was a joke, then I read some comments and was confused, then I checked the market and now I’m baffled.

I still refer to them as the Steve Urkel cars.

hmm, didn’t he at one time praise his wife’s “Built-in Black Woman Superpower”? Well, I guess the white woman’s superpower has won out. I have absolutely no respect for such Black men. Enough already! Just my opinion!
