I clean the tray after every use. I guess some people need to be reminded or they simply don’t realize it needs to be done.
I used dryer lint to start a campfire once as a visual demonstration for my sons and a couple of their friends. They’re all in college now, so I’m hoping that stuck with them.
I like to wait 3-4 months at a time before emptying the lint trap, so that when I finally do, I can make a sweater out of the material that is as goddamned stylish as it is flammable.
I remember Sinbad’s “I know what you all are thinking: Do I have enough clothes to go to a black college.”.
“I forgot to mention my daughter is the Tasmanian Devil...”
Wish I went to Morehouse.
It’s now “complicated”.
Are they still your friends, or was there a change in your relationship?
I figure that if the car dies close enough to home to push the rest of the way, but not close enough for any fire to spread to the house, you’re livin’ the dream, British Leyland style.
In 2018 Consumer Reports’ list of the top 20 most reliable vehicles nine were made by Toyota.
My friend is selling one of these with a real, actual metal roof, LHD and a really strong V12 with low miles and perfect red paint and body for $6000. Not surprisingly he’s having trouble finding any takers. At “Dealer” price, this is a ND for sure.
When they had 3-speed automatics, it was the GM THM400. Probably the most reliable part on the whole damn car.
Everybody loves a V12, but these cars are an absolute nightmare to work on — even 20 years ago I knew multiple people who had V12 XJ coupes gathering dust as permanent project cars in their garages — and adding in an ugly not-convertible with a top that’s unobtanium makes this probably the least desirable of the form.…
The irony of calling himself “academic.”
Nah... I think even in pre-COVID times, this would have still been worth at least $4000 given the condition, low mileage and the spec.
While true, in my mind it’s still a $2k car.
It’s a Mondeo/Contour/Mystique with a 2door body. A Contour SVT in this shape would be loads more money. That 6 is one of the sweetest engines of it’s time. Almost as nice as the Yamaha 6 in the Taurus SHO.
Unless you’re looking for a base to build El Chapo II: We Don’t Need No Stinking Windows, I just don’t know what you’d do with this to make it worth $19.5K.
