Well, thanks for reading my mind. Your powers of perception are faulty, but that's all right. You have a great day.

Calling Misty a love interest is a bit of a stretch. They definitely have a complicated relationship, but they have sex one time and she spends the rest of the show being Javert to his Valjean. Just calling her a 'love interest' is really doing her a disservice. When he moves on to Claire she doesn't seem to care,

Well, feel free to make a point about it or share your own. As we do in comments sections.

ClaireTemple had more to do in this season of Luke Cage than she has had to do in any Marvel series to date. She was SO much more than a love interest. Diminishing everything we saw her do in her time on the show because she kisses Luke in the finale irks me. A lot.

This show had the largest single group of empowered female characters in any Marvel property EVER. Claire, Misty, Reva, Mariah, Captains Priscilla and Betty, the lawyer Mom, hell even Aisha and Carmen had agency and their emotions and their choices mattered.

He just seemed really… young (in the released stills, granted) compared to her as presented through this show. Like I said, I'm reserving judgment until I see it. I'm just concerned.

Even if they had sex, I don't see how it would reflect badly on her. At all.

The Marvel Blerds I know mostly hate hate hate hated the JJ/Luke relationship with passion. JJ used Luke shamefully, lied to him, and then kept it moving. Her show was not about him, so I didn't really think it was a big deal for her show, but I had no desire to see that relationship in this one. SO happy they let him

She and Luke did not have sex. All they did was flirt.

HOW SWAY?????

This. I was happy to see him make it out.

Everything about Diamondback feels under-written, especially compared to the time and care taken with the Stokes storyline. Hell, even Shades has more nuance, and the dude's main characteristic is that he wears sunglasses at night. ETA: But Theo Rossi is amazing with him. The performance is what makes Shades so

It could have worked- brother against brother is one of the oldest stories out there because it's often so true to life- but they rushed it. Felt really under-written, especially in comparison to the way they present the Stokes, and how their lives just collide.

I would agree that Diamondback is a problem, but disagree that it's because of story. This show had enough gangsters already- and it does a great job giving them nuance and complexity. The origin story you describe lacks much of that. I liked the way they took Luke and made him something unique character-wise instead

The things I liked about this show pull a lot more from the reality of Harlem and the people in it to create something unique than from any comic. The reason I like it is because it reflects so much of Black America and what we face in 2016. These parts veer sharply away from that reality. If they are referencing

I can only speak from my experience as a black person who has lived in NYC almost her whole life. None of the decisions (or Misty's words) feel true to the people or the location IRL, and the show did a brilliant job establishing the feel and texture of it early on, so it's hard to really see it as fundamentally

After meeting this version of Misty Knight (who I think is great), I can't see her with the guy they cast as Iron Fist at all. Hopefully when hey meet, the characters have great chemistry and I'm proven wrong, but…. I have doubts.

I never thought for a second that Claire and Matt were going to work out, but I thought she had great chemistry with Luke. Given that the shows take place over years, seeing her date two dudes in that space of time is really unremarkable, especially when her self-declared motivation is to be support for heroes. That's

Agreed with his. He's angry because she lied. Doesn't mean that there wasn't something real there.

Nope. No JJ/Luke, that's dead forever. She killed his wife (under influence, true) and then lied to him about it. I don't care if it turns out that Reva personally funded Seagate prison herself, I'm not interested in their relationship going any farther than it did. Luke has chemistry with every woman he sees, I hope
