@spiraloflife: Since she requested pastels, don't get any "extras". Pastel sets are expensive. I suggest soft and the good brand names are Rembrandt or Grumbacher. If you still want to make seem like more, maybe paper. Clerks at art supply stores are very helpful. Good luck.

@mustard_ampersand: I asked my eye doctor about this. No, you can't the quality of plastic are not the same. They heat the frames to get the lens to fit properly & reading glasses (or those really cute sunglasses) will not bear the heat.

@Cherryblossomgirl: You can get thumb drives (or flash drives) cheaply at Walmart or Target. I like Sony, they are black with color denoting the storage size. I got my 2 gig for 12.99 on sale. If he needs to transfer images, get the larger drive, I use the 2 gig to shuttle Word docs.
