It will be interesting to see Ambrose play Van. Van seems to lack the anxious edge so many of Ambrose’s past characters share, although she definitely played sarcastic/sullen well in the first season of Six Feet Under.

Hannibal. The Hunt. The season 3 finale of Atlanta. Intersections of class and cannibalism are having a big year. Is it because cannibalism has been a metaphor for economic exploitation since “A Modest Proposal” (1729). Or maybe it has to do with the way changing models of land ownership changed perceptions of hunting…
Don’t subscribe to Apple TV because of Ted Lasso. Subscribe to Apple TV because of Severance. But only for a month.
Currently in year 16. Actual quote from researcher: “I’ll continue to do it at least until the last bird that I know I actually captured wearing that mask is alive. There’s one bird of seven still on campus that I caught with that mask. Once that bird’s dead, I’ll know that the ones that remain didn’t have a personal…
I don’t remember Emilia Jones singing in the previous seasons? I get that she did a bunch of vocal training for CODA and all, but so far it seems like a bad attempt to emotional impact the plot/writing hasn’t earned.
Are you...not willing to watch AppleTV on a computer? (Also, it might be different up north, but in the US you don’t actually get it free just because you have an iPhone. It’s like a $4.99/month by itself, although there are promotions/bundles depending on your Apple Music/Apple News+ subscription status.)
best episode of TV in the last few months
IDK, man. This episode did not feel like an AV Club A by any stretch of the imagination.
I binged Season 1 of Industry over the weekend and I really liked it. Unfortunately, my newfound enthusiasm took a major hit when Jay Duplass popped up out of nowhere in the Season 2 premiere.
I found the first episode hard to get through. Watching at 1.25 speed has made the experience more enjoyable though.
Watching at 1.25 speed significantly improves the experience IMO
Robert Pattinson playing Stuart Townsend playing the vampire Lestat
When will AppleTV admit that alternate history storylines get harder and harder to pull off the further you get down the timeline, as already proven by both Amazon and HBO? Every time this show gets renewed for another season, I wonder, “How on earth [LOL] are they going to expand on this premise and keep it…
To be fair, most of the really good stuff is from HBO proper. I was just indifferently debating whether to cancel HBOMax for a few months or make the most of my limited-time, don’t-cancel offer an hour ago...
There’s a medium- to wide-shot with Saul sitting between/behind the driver and passenger seat that really clinched it for me.
It’s very clearly a stationary building standing in for an RV. The angles and proportions are all wrong.
Didn’t take very long, did it?
Don’t know about all that, but it did seem like some or all of the office might be a green screen.
The joy I experienced when I realized that “Larry” is the name of Nathan Corddry’s characters in both For All Mankind and Paper Girls was the single best thing to come out of this episode IMO. (The characters have other traits in common, too.)
Yeah, you should have done the math.
