To be fair, in a quality scene that felt a little World War Z (the book not the movie),

What bothered me the most about this episode was that when Chris and Nick jumped into the water, no one noticed the thick cloud of smoke coming from the other boat. Even though we couldn’t see the capsized boat at first, the smoke was there. Apparently we aren’t dealing with the brightest bunch of people.
