Daisy was the princess in Super Mario Land for Game Boy and the namesake for the movie’s heroine. She was not really a part until one of the tennis games where Peach needed a double. From there she became a regular staple as the "feisty, sporty" princess. I think Strikers really cemented her personality/role.

Always glad to hear Utada Hikaru in these movies as it reminds me of when her career was taking off during my study abroad in the early 00s. A fellow student of mine was a perfect vocal copy during karaoke (along with BoA as well).
