The PT has more torque and a MUCH stronger motor. The SS (cobalt and HHR) plus the Kappa Turbos (Solstice/sky) were using 2 liters made with powdered metal pistons. I know a Sol owner and a Cobalt SS owner who have been through 2 engines already.
