Any patents that could have applied to a Willys Jeep would have expired decades ago and would be completely legal to exploit by other companies. FCA is basically claiming trademark infringement, which is something entirely different from patent infringement. That being said, I’d say the look of a Jeep is distinctive

Leave the raging dykes alone!

FCA pretty much has to do this, or they risk losing their trade dress trademark. The way trademarks work, if someone else is using yours, and they use it for long enough and you don’t say anything, they’ll have the right to keep using it. More importantly, evidence of this is a factor for trademark abandonment,

Have u guys ever been to the Philippines or India? If you think Italy is bad, you’ll die there.

Driving in Italy isn’t like driving anywhere else in the world.

I have to disagree about the characterization of Italian drivers here. I’ve done a very similar drive, from Firenze to Modena to Alba to Como to Milan in an Opel Astra wagon. My experience was that Italian drivers have very good road manners, and were much better than Americans. Hell, in my experience, driving in

It is very, VERY misleading to act like the auto industry “did nothing” about emissions. The difference in vehicle emissions from 1979 to 1989 is astonishing, and the amount of money and time that was spent on R&D was incredible. Only someone ignorant would claim they “did nothing”.

My Miata

I think the only retort to both sides of your comment are “Don’t knock it, till you’ve tried it”...

I’m not gay, and I own a Miata (it’s my second, in fact).  But the fellow I bought the car from is - and at the time he also owned a Corvette.

I am gay and I cannot stand it, primarily because I am not a hairdresser.

I’m not saying I hate the Miata, but the other day, I was stuck behind a guy driving an NA Miata. We were in the #2 lane of a 4 lane freeway. He was doing 65. The slower lanes were moving faster.

Lightness. And decreased powertrain loss.

spoiler alert:  there will be trees.

Lewis is a cunt

Are the tires still $40000 to change? And have to be shipped to Michelin’s big place in France? If so, that seems monumentally stupid.

Less drivetrain loss = more power that is put to the ground. Even though now you have less traction and way worse 0-100 times.

Not everything requires a serious technical reason to justify it.

If you want one anyways, the article includes several. The vehicle became lighter, weight over the front axle was reduced in particular, steering feel and effort improved, as did the turning radius.

Goofballs With Too Much Time On Their Hands Ruin Perfectly Good Bugatti would have been a better headline.

Whats the valid reason for owning any car like this at all ever?
