Pew has tons of data on public opinion around abortion, including whether state laws reflect sentiment of the population! Apparenly in 2019 50% of people in Texas thought abortion should be illegal in “all or most cases,” so yeah that’s a good proportion I guess. I dug into their abortion data for a grad school paper

The apps are shitty. (I worked for a restaurant that used them, I actually set us up on the platforms, they sucked a lot.) But sometimes it’s like, an hour on public transit either way for me to pick something up, and 10 minutes if a delivery person drives it to me...

The annoying thing about taking public transit to pick up food is that it’s often cold by the time you get back home. Of course, with the recent lack of delivery drivers, it’s often cold when you get it delivered too.

I went through this recently because I started graduate school last year. My vaccination records are nowhere, neither of the states I got them in kept records at that point and my parents definitely don’t have them. Had to say I had philosophical objections to vaccinations (I do not) because I didn’t want to get an

Well you’re replying to a bunch of comments that existed long before vaccines existed, but also mask mandates are coming back for a reason.

As a vegan, I can assure you that I am not triggered by an article about cooking vegetables.

I am really trying to cut down on single-use items but I will say it is WAY easier now that I have in-unit laundry. Where exactly do you keep a pile of damp, dirty rags for two weeks while you wait to do your laundry?

Well when I say girlfriend people think I’m talking about a friend so there’s really no winning there.

I mean, a few months ago I told someone off because they said that if your neighbors are being too loud you should just knock on their door and hang out at their party too and I was like IT’S A GD PANDEMIC and they were like uh I made this comment in 2017.

I posted that comment on March 8. I was thankfully able to get my first dose on April 12, will be fully vaccinated on Tuesday.

I don’t understand how this works without a solid plan to verify who’s actually vaccinated. I get that it’s supposed to motivate people to get vaccinated, but people who are choosing not to get vaccinated in the US right now aren’t going to follow CDC guidelines out of the goodness of their hearts.

I used Imperfect Foods because, even before the pandemic when I was ok with doing in-person grocery shopping, it’s a pain without a car, and now I’m not really doing in-person at all. They definitely leave something out like...every other time? But their selection is big enough that I can get 80% of my groceries

I am not a fan of our governor. Oregon has also been allocated less vaccines per capita than most other states, which has made national news. This is so dumb, like if you’re saying our government hasn’t done a good job, yes, they haven’t. I have TONS of critiques there. But there are also aren’t enough vaccines

The demand for vaccines here is very high. The supply is not as high as the demand. I am pretty politically involved and there are definitely some politicians who have not done a great job. I will be voting. But the fundamental problem is just math. I am hoping we will have enough supply to meet the demand soon. It’s

Oh and actually the mobile vaccination sites done through Multnomah County you’re referring to are specifically for marginalized groups and are not publicized to the general public, they are done in partnership with community groups, because primarily the vaccine has been made much more accessible to white people and

And now I’m going to call my brother to see if any of the appointment links I sent him yesterday worked for him.

I am in Portland. I did actually get an appointment through the Get Vaccinated tool, but like I said, it’s a lottery system. I got my first one on April 12, earlier than most people I know, because I was eligible early. There are mobile services for homebound people, but not for the general public. I agree, the

I literally said it in an earlier comment, which it seems like you did not read. I’ve been working hard to get my friends and family and coworkers vaccinated now that eligibility opened up on Monday, so I’m pretty familiar with the options at this point. Still only found walk-ins available sometimes in Salem, which is

For the record, when I got my first shot last week, they checked that I had my appointment confirmation on my phone prior to letting me into the building, and they were absolutely turning people away who didn’t have them.

PLEASE TELL ME WHERE PEOPLE CAN GO WITHOUT APPOINTMENTS IN MY CITY. I would LOVE to know that. I know TONS of people who would love to know that. I would tell everyone I know. I would post it in the Facebook group I’m in where people help each other find vaccines. I would think if it existed it would be in the local
