Flying into a mountainside does tend to ruin the flight.

They won by 38 points! That wasn’t because of 1.8 psi.....
Why would you do that? The Fiesta is dangerous enough when they roll off the assembly line!
Naval ships use the same nav lights (although they also run dark, that’s another issue), but their intensity is usually much less than merchant vessels, and most importantly, the US Navy in particular have the range and mast head lights very close to each other, mailing it very difficulty to easily visually ascertain…
Really good analysis, and interesting on the data on the track of the merch.
Sure it does. The collision avoidance rules are time tested and very effective. If there is an open ocean collision, they were not being followed,
How do I know? Because the damn thing is wrecked and seven guys are missing.
The 72 COLREGS only apply to two ship encounters, and in my experience naval vessels usually have a few friends with them making the situation a special circumstance. The erratic maneuvering typical of naval vessseld can also screw up the collision avoidance radars on freighters pretty easily.
Not in this case.
They are fine. Huge ship, the Fitz is much smaller and took the hit broadside. Probably only a crew of 25 on the container ship anyway.
Have you ever been on the bridge of a ship running a collision avoidance problem?
Every ex says that
Based on the photos alone, the Fitz was the give way vessel under the navigation rules of the road.
It will be interesting to see how this story unfolds. I have sailed on both naval and merchant ships, and especially at night the erratic maneuvering and relatively poor navigation lighting systems of naval ships can be quite confusing on the bridge of a merchant ship that only has one guy trying to run collision…
Actually, they are people who won’t GTFO. When we rolled into Kuwait City there wasn’t a Kuwaiti in sight, but it was full of indins, Indonesians and Pakistanis who had no way to escape the Iraqis.
Well, a B1 is a pretty big cock....
You have it wrong. It is never referred to as “the Bronx”. The proper local terminology is “da Bronx”
What is a “stealthb”?
Exactly right.
Except for all the dead ISIS boneheads lying around 4500 craters. They are pretty beaten.
