I’m excited to read this having grown up in the 70s and watching BJK and Chris Evert but being largely unaware of the feminist and abortion rhetoric going over my young head. I’ve heard a few recent interviews with Billie Jean and her unflagging energy, kindness and no-BS attitude are inspiring.

I’ve had a couple of sexy dreams about a former supervisor who tried to have me fired. The brain is truly weird.

The timing of this blog is eerie as I’ve been emotionally gearing up to start seriously decluttering and one of my main targets is the fancy box of adolescent notes and letters on top of my bedroom bookshelf. My friend W and I also had an elaborate code system for the gaggle of boys we liked, as well as intricate

I will occasionally have sexytimes dreams about my 6th grade crush who only made a move later that year at science camp after I was over him and fixated on another guy so I pretended I didn’t understand. The last time he showed up in a dream I googled him and he’s now a LCSW so maybe not a jerk? There’s precious

It doesn’t get much attention in North America (mobile + ftp multiplier) but Garena is homegrown and doing quite well for itself.

Yeah, because there’s no difference between having journalists fire inane questions at you after a match and heavily managed interviews and photo shoots where your management has editorial control. If anyone should know that, it’s Megyn Kelly.

I heard a terrific conversation with Ash Barty’s mindset coach Ben Crowe about how he works with athletes (and regular people) to disconnect their self worth from the outcome. It’s particularly difficult for individual athletes like tennis players because it’s just you out there on the court, and so your support

Since the blog omits a conclusion that summarizes the argument, I am guessing the point is that a lot of people believe in astrology and base important decisions on it (see Nancy Reagan), so it is useful to understand where they’re coming from, in the same way it’s useful to understand why many evangelical Christians

All the stars for “De Santis is one of Satan’s golf cart drivers, for sure.”

Portland is a very foodie city, especially in the locally sourced/sustainable vein. Standing in line at the latest hipster breakfast place is a thing to do.

I have the Penguin Classics Robin Buss translation and it’s extremely readable. Such an entertaining book.

Thank you, my TBR just got fatter. Currently, I am making my way through the 1200+ pages of The Count of Monte Cristo. It’s a book I never thought I wanted to read but so many people of diverse bookish tastes have mentioned it as a fave and so far it has not disappointed.

Re EF, that’s interesting!

That’s a good tip. There’s a tiny EF outlet not terribly far away but even there the prices are a little steep. I’ve found that I need to pay extra attention to caring for the knits because the elegant drape can easily turn into plain ol’ baggy if I treat them poorly.

mostly neutrals in vaguely baggy shapes, meant to convey Eileen Fisher on a Thrift Town budget

I’m waiting breathlessly for my library hold. The preceding novellas A Dead Djinn in Cairo and The Haunting of Tram Car 015 were terrific. His unrelated story, Ring Shout, was awesome as well.

I have a tiny living room so my seating is two wide armless chairs and a matching ottoman. They are 15 years old and have suffered the attentions of four cats so I’m going to have to replace them soon and the idea fills me with anxiety.

So you took a lichen to them?

Please don’t insult mossy rocks. Some of them are quite attractive and talented in their own way.

I feel like scuba diving is the one time I should not have to worry about attempted rape by zombies.
