I feel like this is extremely unfair to the very good @NatsSquid

Hey, the NHL is too Canadian, the NBA is too....urban, and the Skins are the fucking Skins. Not a whole lot of options for these guys.

I want to give Ben Hobbs a hard time about always rooting for Thomas Jefferson in president mascot race, but in fairness I always root for Cheesy Beef in the Buona Beef races at White Sox’s games because he is the beef that best represents my feelings on monetary policy.

>>> “If you have a car charger, you probably have a car, and it probably has some gasoline. Just go sit in the car and charge.” <<<

Hold the phone, beth (pun intended). If you have a car charger, you probably have a car, and it probably has some gasoline. Just go sit in the car and charge. Putting 9V into a 12V->5V regulator is probably always OK, but not definitely always, and if you wire this backwards or short your battery you could easily be

I don’t quite agree with that. Most Americans don’t care how the prison system is run. They want it to be as cheap as possible as long as it makes them feel safe. The argument that unrest can be prevented with cost-effective reform is the only one which works.

Truth is, there’s no reason to charge at all. The things required, like a phone line or internet access, are already required for the prison to run. Giving say a free 30-an hour a week would be a lot more just.

Because most Americans aren’t interested in helping inmates. They want them punished and in the worst possible conditions.

And mind you in Texas too. It’s nice that they seem to have realized that bleeding the families of inmates dry is a poor way to go. If we keep getting steps like this, maybe we can have meaningful reform of the prison system within the next 20 years, once we stop making it so highly profitable.

Not an expert on this, but I’d think that prison calls would be an incredibly cost-effective thing for the state to subsidize. Why are they even charging for this at all? A weekly call with family or loved ones helps keep inmates happy, and even if you don’t give a shit about their wellbeing, seems like it would cut

It’s a start...

Oh, come on, baseball isn't that bad.

the Nationals could sure use a reliable reliever

Remember: this is all an embarrassing shitshow for the United States, but the congressional GOP is sitting idly by as it all happens. Patriots my ass.

Lack of reading comprehension is a terrible thing. Thoughts and prayers that your life is not as miserable as you seem to want to make it.

I don’t see how the fact that you didn’t “read” the story should really make you an expert on morality

Did you...read the story...

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck ooooooooooooooooooooooooff

Eh, I disagree. He had already given the front-row kid a ball, and so he gave this ball to another kid who (presumably) hadn’t gotten one. That seems to me like the good and just thing to do.

Thank god they got rid of Dusty for a rookie manager who was totally qualified to handle a veteran team with lots of egos!
