Not everyone, but for 6"+ screens, it’s definitely a growing share, and probably 30-40% of all smartphones sold these days. And if you go down to 5.5"+ screens, it’s probably 90% or more.

@Sad Crying Clown - which I am unable to directly reply to your post in the grays because of Kinja
pixel 2 xl: 157.9 x 76.7 x 7.9 mm
As my screenname implies, I also prefer smaller phones... but over the past decade, it has been empirically proven that people prefer larger phones (the XL Pixel models have always outsold the regular models AFAIK).
what do you mean by “too big”? the 6 pro is about the same size as a pixel 4 xl.
Sorry please read the technical literature regarding latency and bandwidth on starlink before smattering borrowed opinion. I have worked in the satellite internet uplink in late ninetees onwards. You are way out of league here.
I could bury fiber cables across the entire country, but that doesn’t mean it is a good idea. The ends don’t always justify the means. Add to that the fact that there have already been concerns voiced about the low-latency related to these satellites and I think it’s safe to say that Musk filled low-orbit with a bunch…
Thing is, both can be true. He can be someone who means well and implement his ideas poorly without enough concern towards the collateral damage.
You said “the entire point of Starlink is to provide nice things (high speed internet) to poor and rural populations that cannot get them right now.” If that were the entire point, Musk would be giving the technology away for free. The entire point is to make money. Giving more communities internet happens to help…
The entire point of Starlink is to find another business venture that allows Musk to pilfer from the Federal Government. You literally have no evidence that Musk is doing anything out of altruism or that he cares in anyway about poor or rural populations. I am not saying you are wrong, just that you have no evidence.…
You do know, that just like all of Musk’s other ventures, is that he is relying on the Federal Government to subsidize the cost of internet for those under served areas right? He created something that no one asked for, which is too slow to be useful for much longer, and that requires government subsidies to be…
Been doing astrophotography long have you?
Um yeah right, this guy Daniel López is a total hack and has no idea how to shoot astrophotography as is evident by all the crap iPhone pics on his website.
Thats not what quite what happened here, from the photographers FB page.
Starlink better be worth it. If rural and developing world broadband coverage isn’t excellent we may need to gather the pitchforks and torches for Elon.
news just reported the facts instead of lacing a few facts in with a plethora of bias.
That is absolutely insane.
You’re absolutely right. But there are a number of measures Zoom could take to prevent this. Some other people have already mentioned but they include:
Yeah the ability to not let users un-mute themselves is a pretty big deal and add’s so much control and forced teleconferencing etiquette and it is super simple to use.
I am still shocked that the groups purchasing and configuring zoom for these high security institutions did not take 5 min to learn about what options for security zoom has.
