you make a lot of good points but as for Helen Slater’s showing up at the fight? No surprise, she would have come in town early for the wedding,
the injoke of being a Kryptonian “only in the movies” was a nice nod.

there’s a “pumpkin spice” joke in there somewhere.
but you’d have to carve it out

don’t they know that downward pointing arrows in posters like this are a subliminal no-no? Same with package and logo design. It sets up a negative response in the viewer - even subconsciously.

if you live by grace, then yes, you are forgiven

One wonders if we’ll see Picardo’s EMH. he’d seem to be a natural for this.

I don’t resent it, I just feel it’s being overused as a cheat to make your product look more “artsy” than it deserves.

Where it is used thematically it can be a very powerful visual aid such as in the Tarentino “Grindhouse” two-parter.

Where it comes off as trite and hackneyed - Star Wars Visions.

You seem to be directing the article to the general public but we don’t factor to either of these categories. the studios decide what to submit, the academy members do the voting.
the whole “network vs. streaming” argument is moot as well since they don’t compete on an

They do a particularly bad job on the women characters. Rachel McAdams has a distinct look. as does Gwyneth Paltrow. and Evangeline Lilly. I could go on, but you get the point.

The only characters they seem to do OK on are the alien ones (I think Howard the Duck was their best) or ones that have a obvious “hook” to

sez the guy who’s adapting a novel that’s already been done twice before

that would have been genius!
Like maybe he treated the camera crew to this lavish dinner or something then told them not to reveal the truth

sorry to inject logic, but they didn’t have native soil left in Staten Island?

im sure the stock answer is always money, but they presumably already paid them to do the voice work.
