My 16 year old daughter died on May 29th of this year.

Sounds just like my holidays. Bliss!

Well today was Christmas here. It was 38 degrees (celsius, so 100 degrees F). I just got home from my family lunch and had an icy cold bath, which I highly recommend to any other Australians on here. I hate summer. So much. Tonight we will be sleeping on a camping mattress in the lounge because that’s the only

Watching all the Die Hards but need to watch original Gremlins. :D

I’m wicked high and I ate all the mashed potatoes my mom made in advance of tomorrow’s big Christmas dinner. An. entire. bowl. HELP! Can I blame a passing wild dog? Give me your best excuse, Internet.

I kinda love Christmas a lot because I don’t ‘celebrate’ it, it becomes some awesome free downtime. And I’m having one of my favorite Christmases in a long time.

To everyone. This can be a lovely time, or a lonely time. You can revel in your friends or family, or feel like you’re pressing your nose up against the window of other people’s joy.

First Christmas without my dad so I took December off to spend with my mom who is 92. She’s doing ok but has some minor health issues and is not feeling the holiday spirit, either. My sister limited the decorations but the whole family except for one grandkid is here and she needed the continuity. I paid for my niece

Home in my jammies with a roaring fire after dinner at the home of an old friend. Prosecco in my hand, my shaggy pup (9 years young) snoring at my feet, a blanket around my shoulders = bliss. Sleep in heavenly peace, mes amies. Sleep in heavenly peace.

That’s amazing. And sounds like so much fun.

So my new years resolution last year was to kiss a girl, and things are really running down to the wire here.... any uhhh quick solutions for this? I don’t know if I should make that resolution again this year...seems pretty lofty at this point. I might just go with like, petting a puppy or something. I’ve been

Die Hard. I miss Alan Rickman and his sonorous  voice.

Friends! I’m opening presents! Here’s us at a bar earlier today (keeping Xmas Eve classy!). Cheers!

Late to the party, but shout out to all the non-Christmas celebrating Jezzies. May this season pass us by as quickly as possible, and may you find the strength to not roll your eyes at people insisting that your giftcard came from Santa when you know it was that chickenhead Jennifer from HR. I am not 12, I see you

Hey, so I’m feeling a little down this Christmas...

Musical guilty pleasures thread:

It’s Christmas day now here in Blighty. Having ducked out of going to the pub due to a physical malfunction, I am now partaking in the long standing British tradition of getting absolutely paralytic on Baileys for the entire day. I am so far half a bottle down, and need to reserve some for my breakfast, so am going

Back home in the Caribbean tonight for a white (rum, sands) Christmas. Any other Jezzies drinking sorrel and eating black cake tonight?

Merry/happy xmas/hanukah/Yule y’all! This past week I was told I look like a younger Taylor swift, which is hilarious since I am older than her by a few years. Second time I’ve been told I look like her but whenever I do those celebrity lookalike things, I get Jamie Cullum.

Uh, Greetings.
