I started this book, and felt much the way you stated: it seemed slow going and shallow. I put it down. Oddly, I missed this review over at Robot Viking, or else I would have likely persevered. I still have it on my nightstand, so maybe I'll give it another shot.

That Undying Evil art is great. A lot of good stuff here, but that's probably my favorite by far. A zombie/ghoul busting through floorboards is nothing new, but that grin accompanied by the sinister magic symbol takes it to a new level. Plus, it seems like the kind of card that grabs creatures from the graveyard,
