The French version of this caption is amazing. It has so many subtle burns in it, I’m in love. I learned French because of the whole “language of love” thing but I think I actually love it because it’s the Language of Shade.
I just screamed in the middle of my office.
Someone bought me the 25th anniversary double VHS box of The Sound of Music when I was 2 and I was obsessed. I would have died to have Liesl’s dress from “16 Going on 17", which I definitely sang in the shower on my 16th birthday.
I definitely think you want the ticking time bomb in the desk requested, because if it’s about to go off, you can just throw it out the window.
I’m not even sure how many times I’ve read this book, I just know it’s A LOT. I clearly remember bawling my eyes out at the end.
I used Sonnet 43 as the reading at my wedding, because I wanted something written by a woman and also it is absolutely magnificent.
Reminds me of when a friend of mine in grad school got a new girlfriend, so my roommate and I were doing some light Facebook stalking...and found Halloween photos of her in college in blackface. I watch Fixer Upper because it’s fun to see them take a total scrapheap of a house and turn it into something charming, and I agree that the dynamic between Chip and Joanna doesn’t seem as acted out as with Property Brothers. Where I have to give those stock photo mannequin twins credit though, is that their home…
Totally true. The only reason my family noticed Tom Hanks was standing right in front of our car was because he was wearing a Playtone hat, and we were looking at it going “Hey we didn’t know you could buy those....WAIT A MINUTE”.

My parents went to my second cousin’s wedding last year and my dad was so freaked out by the icky creepiness of the father-daughter dance and song choice, it colored his entire approach to mine. We had to practice to make sure appropriate distance was kept.
We used Chuck Berry’s “You Never Can Tell” because I made a joke about doing the twist from Pulp Fiction and then we realized the song was actually about a successful marriage. Our DJ edited a track with a sappy opening to fake people out into thinking we were slow dancing, then we did a swing - it was awesome.
