I am torn in liking and hating this. But if it is going to happen, why not keep the same format? 8 groups of 6 teams, so just an extended 1st round. Which makes it more important to have enough depth to manage fatigue and injuries while also allowing the real top teams to separate themselves in the top 2.

Ended up at the match yesterday and my buddy had no issue getting in to the match with his printed ticket. However, his co-worker tried getting in 5 minutes after us with his printed ticket and got turned away. I didn’t want the hassle so I just took a screenshot my ticket and presented it to avoid any issue.
