I agree that there's a sexual component there (at least, that seems to be how Lani Tupu is playing it), but I doubt that Crais is even capable of imagining a sustained romantic attachment. That's just not how Peacekeepers do things.

Given the generally laissez-faire attitudes to sexuality that we've seen from the Peacekeepers, it wouldn't surprise me at all if Crais wanted Aeryn sexually. They're not particularly repressed about it. The subversion I think is that sex is really far from being the most important thing he might want from Aeryn. Sex

That is a good point. At this point in the show's run Crais seems… ah… as well adjusted as any of the show's other regulars, but that isn't really saying much, is it?

That plotline is so subtle, I almost can't tell when they introduce it, until suddenly she's just SEEING THINGS and it's a thing and a plot device in S4.

I tend to avoid interviews with actors, because I never want to be disappointed by the person vs. the character. But from what I've learned in these reviews, I should make an exception for Ben Browder.

Yeah Talyn's really horrifying in Green Eyed Monster, isn't he? This is really the first chance we've had to interact with him, and it's…. unsettling.

That observation about Kanvia is pretty chilling, actually.

Thank you! And yes, I'm seeing that :D

Rygel needing instructions on how to pee when inhabiting Crichton's body is a stand-out, I think.

ME TOO.

And Crais is also the character Aeryn has the most baggage with. It totally makes sense to put those three on a ship and force them to work it all out.

I hadn't thought about the gender dynamics of the split before, but that's a good point too. (Though putting Aeryn and Crais together complicates the J/A story.)

Right! That makes perfect sense, if one of the goals of splitting up the crew was saving a bit of money.

I wonder how they decided on those groupings. It makes sense to have one Crichton go off with Aeryn. It also makes sense to have the other Crichton together with D'Argo and Chiana so he has his closest friends around as consolation for being separated from Aeryn (and so that we have both crews bolstered by strong,

I originally watched this years ago and have just discovered the AV Club Classic reviews, which is an excellent excuse to rewatch, so thanks Alasdair! All I have to say about "Eat Me" is that I apparently excised it from my memory (although I remembered that somehow Crichton got twinned). That either doesn't speak

It was clearly wise that I watched this episode lying down from the start.

*raises hand eagerly* me! me!

I think I like you, sir, better even than Rappin' Jake Sisko.
