@thesugarplum: heh, my college professor for programming used to say all the time "Programming for the lowest common denominator (clueless users) only creates mediocrity. His other catchphrase was "If ignorance is bliss and patience is a virtue, why aren't you happier?"
@awh: It's been a while, but yes I think you're correct. If I remember correctly at one point in BSG Baltar comments about it having been Daniel Graystone's old house and he had hoped it would give him inspiration in his work.
I've become utterly spoiled by my smart phone. I use the multiple timers on it for cooking all the time and since it's in my pocket I never miss the alarms as they go off if I'm in a different room in my house.
Every generation needs their own equivalent of the power glove. Looks like someone stepped up to the plate to create this masterpiece of over engineering that is nearly useless. I want one!
@CaptainJack: Ditto on the HTPC, plus I love having game emulators on it, although I've been playing a lot of coop Super Mario Bros X, which is an amazing fan made game (www.supermariobrothers.com) just make sure you have a couple of game pads. Playing it on the keyboard it looses most all of it's charm.
@siwex80: LOL, ignorance is bliss as they say
No one asked for your opinion... Mr. Scientist!
@norealityallowed: It made me laugh that the side of the rocket launcher had "proud noob" taped to it.
@abates25: They had asked for a team of crack scientists the best of the best, to design a house of the future. They accidently got a team of crack head scientists... it happens sometimes.
@Fierock: I like to think of it as civic disobedience. Sure if I hack my console with the intent of playing commercial games I've downloaded for free I see that as criminal, but repurposing an old WiFi box as a WiFi bridge by putting some new firmware on it to repurpose it and extend it's life and useability should…
@Celtic1888: I wonder what strategy he would use to beat the game...
I do a lot of electronics hardware hacking and a little bit of software hacking for the last 18 years and I guess I never really thought of it as civil disobedience. It was generally either curiosity of wanting to see how something worked, or having an old device that would have been considered useless and tossed in…
Stealing air from car tires!? Evil week on life hacker!? You sir, have crossed the line. I believe it's time for myself to write another angry letter to the internet that no one will ever read...
@UERD: LOL, thanks for that comment it will make me chuckle for the rest the day when I think of it.
@Benedinho: I know! It's super awesome!
@Torokun: Marathon was awesome at the time but it got dated and lame pretty quickly as far as FPS games go.
I might have suffered from too much head trauma in the past 10 years, but wasn't Halo originally in the works for the Macintosh at that time, I could of sworn there were even teaser screens of it before it disappeared for a long while before showing up on the Xbox. I remember being so bummed about Microsoft buying…
@hartleyhaverty: Pffffft... next thing you're gonna tell me Robocob isn't real... then the easter bunny isn't real. What is Jesus not real eith...... Holy crap... my world just got turned upside down......
